Knowledge Mapping of Articles on Hijab in Health Care: VOSviewer Visualization Techniques

The analysis of hijab studies in the field of health is important and can bring valuable information. onsidering that hijab is the center of researchers' attention in the field of health, this study aims to draw a scientific map of scientific productions in this field and analyze the bibliometric indicators of these articles. The present study is applied in terms of purpose and scientometric in terms of type, which was carried out using retrospective bibliometric analysis and drawing a map of science. Biblioshiny and VOSviewer software were used to analyze keywords and draw science maps. Hijab keyword was searched in PubMed database. This search was done on November 21, 2023 and 77 related articles were retrieved. Next, the articles were reviewed in terms of author, year of publication and journal. The results showed that 77 articles were published in the subject area of hijab in the field of health between 1988 and 2023. About half of the articles have been published since 2020. The annual growth rate of articles in this subject area is 1.94%. 294 authors from 22 countries were involved in writing these articles. 77 reviewed articles have been published in 65 journals. The International Journal of Dermatology ranks first with 4 articles. Also, the results showed that most of the magazines with the largest number of articles are related to the field of skin. Drawing the keywords of the titles of the reviewed articles showed that the keywords hijab, islam, body image, hair loss, vitamin D, hijab pin were the most frequent. The co-occurrence map of the words of scientific productions in the subject area of hijab in the field of health are categorized into 5 clusters: the connection between hijab and body image; hijab and vitamin D; hijab with hijab syndrome; hijab and women's rights; Hijab and hair loss. The results of this study provide readers with the opportunity to get to know the countries and magazines that have made a major contribution in writing articles on the topic of hijab in the field of health. The results of this study can be a guide for the specialists of this subject area for future planning with the aim of defining related researches that the analysis of co-occurrence map indicates that they are less addressed.
