Abstract

The motifs that have been used in Iranian textiles reflect Iranian Islamic art and poets. Prosperity

of Islamic textile in Iran due to details of patterns, color stability, patterns􀀂 authenticity, special

decorations and the techniques that have been used in the design of these textiles.The remained

patterns of the Islamic era, offer us aesthetic criteria. According to what has been stated, the present

study aimed to find out the answer of this question 􀀃what are the role of the decorative features of

Islamic art in the formation of the pattern of Islamic textiles in Iran?􀀄According to this, the

investigation of the evolution of patterns and decorative elements in the Islamic era shows that the

textiles of this era with their combination of religious concepts as a symbol of Islam play an

effective role in promoting and strengthening spiritual values. Therefore, by analyzing the patterns

of Islamic textiles, it is necessary to reveal the hidden meaning of them to explain the

hypothesis that has been raised. The underlying assumption of this article is that the use of the

decorative features in Islamic art in Iran acted as a source of identity and has been effective in

textiles of that era.In general, the purpose of the authors in this article was to explain the influence

of the decorative features of Islamic art on the patterns of Islamic textiles.This article is based on

descriptive-analytic method and original information have been used to gather information. The

results of the present study indicate that decorative features of Islamic art have significant effects on

the textile of the Islamic era and played an important role as cultural-artistic cover and also contains

profound mystical-Islamic concepts.
