Knowledge Mapping of Articles on feminism in Health Care: VOSviewer Visualization Techniques

Abstract

This research aims to draw a scientific map of scientific productions in the field of feminism in medical sciences and analyze the bibliometric indicators of these articles. The present study is applied in terms of purpose and scientometric in terms of type, which was carried out using retrospective bibliometric analysis and drawing a map of science. Biblioshiny and VOSviewer software were used to analyze keywords and draw science maps. Keywords feminist and feminism were searched in PubMed database. This search was conducted on October 7, 2023 and 1460 articles were retrieved. Next, the articles were reviewed in terms of author, year of publication and journal. The results showed that 1460 articles were published in the field of feminism in the field of medical sciences between 1920 and 2023. More than 20% of articles were published from 2019 to 2023. The annual growth rate of articles in this subject area is 4.28 percent. 2247 authors from 51 countries were involved in writing these articles. The United States of America ranks first with 445 articles, and Canada and Australia rank second and third with 274 and 123 articles, respectively. The United States of America, Canada, Australia and Spain have the most joint scientific cooperation with other countries. The most scientific cooperation has been between Canada and Australia, as well as between the United States of America and Canada. 1460 reviewed articles have been published in 611 journals. Ans. Advances in Nursing Science with 46 articles and Health Care for Women International with 35 articles are ranked first and second. Also, the results showed that most of the journals with the largest number of articles are related to nursing and midwifery. Drawing the keywords of the title and abstract of the reviewed articles showed that the keywords Feminist perspective, Feminist theory, Women's health, Feminist analysis have the most frequency. The co-occurrence map of the vocabulary of the scientific productions of feminism in the field of health are categorized into 5 clusters: women's rights and health; economic, social and political factors; genetics and reproduction; moral issues; and nursing The results of this study provide readers with the opportunity to get to know the countries and magazines that have contributed significantly to the writing of feminism articles in the field of health. The results of this study can be a guide for the specialists of this subject area for future planning with the aim of defining related researches that the analysis of co-occurrence map indicates that they are less addressed.
